Milford Sound

The journey to Milford from Te Anau and Queenstown is magnificent.  The Milford Road (between Te Anau and Milford) is New Zealand’s remotest highway providing access to spectacular mountain valleys.  The alpine views are breathtaking and a highlight of any visit to Milford Sound.

Real Journeys provides luxury coach and flight connections to our Milford Sound Daytime and Overnight  Cruises.

Experience one of the world’s finest alpine drives.

Arriving in Milford Sound is always a very special experience. Mile-high Mitre Peak soaring above the sheltered waters of Milford Sound is an unforgettable sight. Real Jouneys Combine a Scenic or Nature Daytime Cruise of Milford Sound with a drive over spectacular alpine roads in one of our glass roof coaches specially designed for your viewing comfort.  Our drivers enjoy sharing their knowledge of the area and there is plenty of time for photo stops and short walks along the way.  The road to Milford Sound, through Fiordland National Park, offers exceptional viewing opportunities with dense rainforest, towering mountains, glacial lakes and (near Homer Tunnel) avalanche debris and alpine herb fields.
