Kawarau River Rafting

Queenstown Rafting

The Kawarau River is an ideal introduction to white water rafting for first-timers.

Idyllic stretches of quiet water allow ample time to practice paddling techniques, look at the scenery or get caught up in a friendly water fight.

Raft under the bungy bridge and drift through Gibbston Valley wine country, before testing your new skills on four fun-sized rapids - 'Smiths Falls', 'Twin Bridges', 'Do Little Do Nothing', and of course, the unforgettable, adrenaline-pumping 400 metre 'Dog-Leg' rapid (grade 2-3 rapids).

  Duration 4 hours
Suitable for water competent people (13 years and over)
Transfer from accommodation or Queenstown Rafting Adventure Centre to Cavell's Rafting Lodge
Comprehensive briefing provided on safety and paddling techniques
Sauna and hot showers at Cavell's Rafting Lodge
